The Accountant

Do you want to see Batman kick ass, but you can’t wait until the next Justice League movie? Ladies and Gentleman let me introduce you to the Accountant.

The Accountant tells the story of an autistic mathematics savant who is a boring CPA by day and at night he works to launder money for the most dangerous criminals all over the globe. When he takes on a job tracking down lost profits, the people connected start to turn up dead. When the gun gets turned towards The accountant, Christian Wolff turns from CPA to killing machine as he tracks down the person responsible for targeting him and nerdy, damsel in distress Anna Kendrick.

Ben Affleck is amazing in this movie. He gives the character very subtle ticks and movements to help sell the struggles of an autistic savant. The Accountant starts off as weaving two very different stories together together, Christian Wolff the man struggling with his disability and the excitement of his double life as the FBI, various hit men, and former clients try and tracks him down. As it rounds into the third act it becomes the action movie the trailers promised and delivers some awesome sequences and a small twist that gives the movie a unique hook.

This movie is not especially deep and although the relationship between Anna Kendrick and Ben Affleck’s characters is sweet, it really doesn’t go anywhere and feels a bit like a spacer to help lengthen. I also did predict the twist and although it is fairly unimportant it did cheapen that moment in the movie.

Overall this film was just plain fun. The acting, action, and story line will keep you entertained and I think if you love action films like I do, this is a unique protagonist that gives the whole movie a different feel.
